Algeria - The success of Pertamina through its subsidiary in Subholding Upstream, PT Pertamina Internasional Eksplorasi dan Produksi (PIEP) which operated in Algeria under PT Pertamina Algeria EP (PAEP), is solely became fruitful through long process of negotiation for new concession contract of Menzel Lejmat Nord (MLN), Block 405a. This has been important achievement for the company, from a commitment and excellent performance point of views, and all management and its team members in PIEP and PAEP.  The agreement that took place on Thursday (15/06) at Sonatrach Group head office was executed accurately due to many factors, among them is the preparation of negotiation process about a comprehensive and better content on the contract.

Starting from the company ongoing experience on field operations management in Algeria since 2012 which show excellent safety performance (>11 years without LTI) and ability to maintain production from MLN filed, Pertamina operatorship also had a good impact and become added values for PIEP and PAEP officers in improving their abilities and competencies for business in Algeria. This point also supported by the success in managing stakeholders that gaining trust from key stakeholders in Algeria, all due to well-maintained stakeholders engagement strategy.

Above points have become a provision for PIEP and PAEP in the negotiation process with Sonatrach Group, both in terms of preparing the contents of the contract and executing the signing of the new PSC contract. The aforementioned contract agreement is the first one to be negotiated and signed with NOC directly by team from Pertamina (without using third-party/consultan).
