Universitas 17 Agustus Visits PIEP: Enriching International Oil and Gas Business Insights

Jakarta - Around 50 students from Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (UTA) Jakarta, visited PT Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP) office , on Thursday, August 31, 2023.  Accompanied by lecturer and dean, students from Communication Science Program of the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Social Sciences at UTA enthusiastically sought information about the operational production areas managed by PIEP.

This visit is part of the students' efforts to gain a deeper understanding of the oil and gas industry in general, as well as the management of international business operations, and the communication practices within a corporate environment. During this visit, students had the opportunity to interact directly with professionals at PIEP.

In his welcoming address, Jaffee A. Suardin, President Director of PIEP, expressed, "We highly appreciate the initiative of the Communication Science Program at UTA Jakarta to get to know the world of the oil and gas industry better. We believe that through today's engaging discussions, students will enrich their knowledge about strategic communication practices in a corporate context."

Throughout the visit, students were engaged in presentations that included discussions about PIEP's role in the oil and gas industry, as well as open dialogues about the challenges and opportunities the company faces in communicating with various stakeholders.

Samsul Ode, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Social Sciences (FEBIS), mentioned that this visit is a routine agenda organized by the campus. "We hope that students gain insights from the oil and gas industry, especially on an international level."

This visit not only provided practical knowledge but also broadened students' perspectives on the national energy industry and the challenges that need to be tackled in developing effective communication within a competitive business environment.

PIEP hopes that in the future, the Company Visit will mark the beginning of building collaborations between the industry and higher education institutions. Moreover, through this visit, PIEP's management hopes that students will understand the vital role of communication in maintaining positive relationships with various stakeholders and become inspired to pursue relevant careers in the energy industry.
